In a statement issued Tuesday, the group said that the Palestinian people are on the front line in defense of Al-Aqsa Mosque, the third-holiest site and first Qibla in Islam.
The Palestinian heroic epic will fail the occupation’s plans to impose a temporal and spatial division, by allowing the settlers’ attacks and raids into Al-Aqsa, the statement said.
Hamas reiterated that the Al-Aqsa Mosque was and will remain purely Islamic, saying that the occupier will not have a place in it.
Earlier Tuesday, dozens of Jewish settlers stormed al-Aqsa Mosque under heavy police protection.
Palestinian worshipers started chanting Takbeer in protest against the settlers' provocative tours, before being violently attacked by police forces.
